Buyong Yeonggwan

Buyong Yeonggwan (芙蓉靈觀, 1485–1571) was a Korean Seon master of the mid-Joseon period and the direct dharma teacher of Seosan Hyujeong (1520–1604)^[1]. His position in the Korean Seon lineage: Byeoksong Jieom (1464–1534) → Buyong Yeonggwan (1485–1571) → Seosan Hyujeong (1520–1604). Hyujeong himself acknowledged the line: 'Byeoksong [Jieom] is my grandfather, Buyong [Yeonggwan] is my father'^[1].
