Sekko Soshin

1408 – 1486

Sekkō Sōshin (1408–1486) is recorded in the Myōshin-ji line documentation as a fifteenth-century Rinzai abbot in the Ōtōkan stream, in the generations between Kanzan Egen's founding circle and the Sengoku-period Myōshin-ji revival. The surviving record preserves his lineage placement; little distinctive doctrinal material from his teaching is preserved in the modern Rinzai-shū historiography[1].
