Ryoen Genseki

Ryoen Genseki (1843–1919) was a Rinzai master in the Inzan line, a student of Tekisui Giboku. He transmitted the lineage through the Meiji period, training students who carried it into the twentieth century.

His student Seisetsu Genjyo continued the line, which eventually reached Omori Sogen. Ryoen's faithful transmission of the Inzan koan curriculum ensured the survival of this particular branch of the Hakuin reform tradition.
