Zhenjing Kewen
Zhenjing Kewen
1025 – 1102
Zhenjing Kewen (真淨克文, 1025–1102) was a major Northern-Song Linji-Huanglong-line master, the principal Dharma heir of Huanglong Huinan after Huitang Zuxin and one of the most-cited teachers in the literary culture of the late-eleventh-century Linji house[1]. He served as abbot of a series of temples including Dongchan (洞山) in Yunyang and Cuiyan-si, and his recorded sayings and dialogues were collected into the *Zhenjing Yulu*[2].
Kewen's chief Dharma heir Doushuai Congyue and others carried the Huanglong sub-line forward in the early twelfth century, and his teaching is generally read as the canonical statement of the literary-philosophical style that distinguished the Huanglong house from its eventual rival the Yangqi house[3].
