Dates uncertain
Christophe Ryūrin Desmur is a French Sōtō Zen monk in the Deshimaru–Kōsen line and the responsible teacher of the Dōjō Zen de Lyon[1]. He has been a Zen monk since 1989 ("Christophe Ryurin Desmur est moine zen depuis 1989")[1].
In parallel to his monastic life he is a teacher of Chinese calligraphy, and the Kosen Sangha publicly identifies him as its official calligrapher ("Professeur de calligraphie chinoise, il est le calligraphe officiel de la Kosen sangha")[1]. From this base in Lyon he leads daily zazen and the kusen tradition transmitted by his master[1].
On 8 October 2009, Stéphane Kōsen Thibaut conferred shihō on him ("Il a reçu le shiho (transmission du Dharma) des mains de maître Kosen le 8 octobre 2009")[1], on the same day as Pierre Sōkō Leroux per the consolidated 2009 Kōsen-shihō entry on the Kosen Sangha roster[2].
