Pascal-Olivier Kyōsei Reynaud is a French Sōtō Zen monk and master, dharma heir of Roland Yuno Rech in the Deshimaru–Sawaki lineage[1][2]. After a long period of zazen practice in the AZI network, in February 2013 he conducted the hossen-shiki (法戦式, dharma-combat) ceremony at Gyobutsuji in Nice in the presence of Master Seidō Suzuki, Yuno Rech, and numerous AZI senior masters — the canonical preparatory ritual for shihō in Sōtō Zen[2].
In August 2013 Reynaud received shihō from Roland Yuno Rech at La Gendronnière[1][2][3]. Since 2014 he has resided in Narbonne, where he is responsible for the Dōjō Méditation Zen Narbonne and conducts regular zazen sessions, week-long sesshin at La Resse, and creativity-and-practice retreats[2][3]. He teaches in the AZI / ABZE network across France and Spain, and his characteristic kusen draw both on Dōgen's Shōbōgenzō and on the painterly traditions of Sino-Japanese ink that he has long studied alongside zazen[2].
