Sōtō

Shōko Okamoto

Dates uncertain

Shōko Okamoto is the second of Shunryū Suzuki's three documented Dharma heirs (sources differ on year: 1963 per cuke.com; 1966 per other lineage materials). The first was Suzuki's son Hoitsu, the third Zentatsu Richard Baker. Beyond the bare fact of the transmission, English-language biographical information on Okamoto's later career and own heirs is sparse, and this stub records only the lineage fact pending Japanese-language follow-up research[1].
