Xuefeng Yicun stands 39 generations from Shakyamuni Buddha in the Qingyuan line line, receiving transmission from Deshan Xuanjian (782–865). The line above runs back through Shitou Xiqian, Tianhuang Daowu, Longtan Chongxin and their predecessors to Shakyamuni Buddha.
